My heart breaks whenever I read about the abandoning of tiny babies who are born alive after failed ”induced birth abortions,” then left in a closet or disposal receptacle to die all alone with no medical care; abandoned and alone until they pass away, thereby completing the abortion process.
Even scarier: Barack Obama has voted repeatedly against an act that would help these babies [...]

Adoptive Parents-to-Be!
This beautiful family is looking to adopt again! Sean and Charlene are good friends of mine who have been unable to have biological children. After two successful adoption experiences they are excited to try again, so they started a blog to introduce themselves to potential birth parents. If you know anyone dealing with an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy [...]

Discriminating Against Large Families
Yesterday my sister gave birth to her fifth child.
I was so excited that I sent out e-mails and text messages announcing the birth. But then I received a very disappointing response from a dear friend in New York. She wrote: “Wow–is this her last one?” No congratulations, no well-wishing; just the usual “wow, I can’t believe [...]

Mother-Daughter Time
Thank you, Joy, for giving me this great idea for mother-daughter time:
Every day, my daughters and I read a chapter from the Little House on the Prairie books together (while Dad reads toddler-level books to the little ones). Then, if the girls get all of their chores and schoolwork done in a timely (and non-complaining) [...]

“Let Children Be Children”
I am so inspired by these wise words from a mother of five who raised her children in the 1940’s-1950’s:
Our children grew up in a semi-rural area. We had a fairly large piece of property with lawns and gardens and orchards and plenty of work to keep the boys out of mischief. A wooded ravine ran [...]

Daily Charts For Children
I hung these charts in my daughters’ rooms and they have been SO helpful! The girls know that these charts have to be done before they can come downstairs and eat breakfast, so I don’t have to stand over them and say “make your bed, brush your teeth!” etc:
Then when it is time to start [...]

The Dilemma of “Too Much Stuff”
Does your home look like this?? If so, it is definitely time to get rid of the clutter!
“My difficulty is dealing with all the STUFF I need help organizing and figuring out where on earth to put it all–or just someone to help me figure out what to get rid of altogether.” Thank you Epistles from Echowood for bringing [...]

I'm just thrilled with the way this series of books ended! Call me old-fashioned, but pro-family values and pro-abstinence (before marriage) in teen fiction always make for a pleasant and delightful read!
