When a Man Tries to Clean

Check out these photos of my husband’s cleaning job!  I am NOT complaining; I am grateful to have a husband who helps me clean the house!  But his way of cleaning is so different from mine that I just had to post these photos!

Here is my husband’s idea of a clean kitchen:

In other words, when he cleans, he shoves everything to the back of the counter.  Granted, he washes and scrubs my countertops until they shine (thanks honey!) but he sees no need to put this stuff away; in his man-mind, he says, “I need somewhere to put this stuff . . . hey, look at all the space on the countertop!”

When I clean, however, I like my countertops to look like this: dscn0615.jpg

I need all spaces to remain open and free of clutter.  When I see stuff on my countertops, I get sensory overload and I can’t think!  And since I am the one who spends all day in the home, I am always following after my dear husband and putting away the stuff he places on the countertops.

No–I’m not complaining!  I’m just thrilled to have a man who does dishes and cleans my kitchen . . .. after he is done, however, I often find I need to do a few touch-ups here and there!  :)

Mom’s Day Off

Every mom needs a vacation every now and then.  If–while I am preparing to leave–my husband balks at having to take the reins, I remind him that my day away is costing him less than the extensive medications/psychotherapy/shopping binges that would result from an overworked mamma!

No advice in my posts today because it is Mom’s day off!

My husband took a vacation day from work so I could run errands and get my Christmas shopping done; I am doing some babysitting for a friend who is a working mom, so wanted to take a day off before I add another child to my brood of four!
